stresspoint was formed in november of '96, but it all began with lance, steve, and lee (with former Molotov Grasshopper bassist larry grinder) as Anticipated Rage. the band broke up and a few months later, they asked me to come jam with them, so i did. it clicked unbelievably well, so we decided to call it a band and named it stresspoint.

the best description i can give (and i hate doing this) is to compare us as a mix of downset. and the deftones. we always try to capture the heaviest groove we can and our singer is one of the most aggressive in KC. now don't go thinking that we are a ripoff band following the latest trend, because we are not. if you listen to us live, you will understand just what i am saying. me personally, i believe we have started something in KC that needed to be started a long time ago. a resurgence of heavy music that is not a fossil from 1983 nor the Kansas City noise trademark, but something fresh and new. please don't think that i am slamming on the Kansas City music scene, because i am not. i enjoy alot of bands that hail from KC, i just think that its time to allow another form to surface. hardcore. i hope you will come join us at one of our upcoming shows. |
